Pine barrens! Oceans! Coming soon!
Think of this not as an interesting post, but the promise of one later. I just need to figure out a way to get the pictures on my fancy new phone onto my computer without having to actually pay for it, and then I can tell you all about my trip to the Pine Bush yesterday. It's a very neat place. Perhaps by then I will have some other interesting pictures to share as well, since I will be out and about tomorrow instead of at work.
To tide you over, let me tell you about my new phone. Don't worry, I have zero interest in sharing its technical details, and in fact can't remember the model off the top of my head -- I'm an absolute telephone-agnostic, and I find the actual use of cell phones distasteful enough that it spoils the actual technology behind them. I mean, Bluetooth, sure, short-range radio as a data medium is cool, but honestly, you look really dumb with that thing hanging out of your ear. Especially when you're just wearing it, and not using it.
Anyhow, selective Ludditism aside, my new phone is shiny, is all I can really tell you. But it is a better camera than my old phone and, frankly, my old camera, so I'm hoping to get some modestly okay pictures from it. I don't expect high art, of course, but at least now I can show and tell. Or I will be, once I get a cable for the thing.

Ron and I refer to the blue tooth thingys as shells in reference to Fahrenheit 451. We refer to the dudes who wear them as douche bags. Enough said
My favorites are the guys who have the bluetooth in one ear and an iPod earbud in the other. Being that hyper-connected would drive me nuts.
