Still awake

The whole thing with the RCN bill didn't work out. In fact, it even turns out that I don't own the cable modem after all -- which annoys me to no end because I think one of my shady ex-roommates 'sold' it to me. Says a lot about my luck with roommates the past few years that I can't even remember which shady ex-roommate it was... But it's okay, because I just discovered (via Universal Hub) that RCN has an advantage they don't really advertise much: they're Jesus. I hope they don't change that soon or I will look silly.

I hate to think that being jobless has lowered my standards of appearance, but I cannot deny that the pants I have been wearing for three days now has a dime-sized hole in the crotch that I just noticed, and nothing in this entire sentence really bothers me. I suppose it's like in golf: the better the golfer, the bigger the handicap. A crotch-hole in my Day-3-pants just brings me back down to average.

I'm not entirely happy with this warmer weather. Warm = good, yes, and any relief I can get on my heating oil bills is welcome, but it's been my observation that things like this average out. It may be in the 50s this week but then next week we'll get down in the 10s, which would average out to about 30 degrees or so for normal winter weather. Just you wait and see.
