Here's some good ideas

So here's a story that I find pretty strange, both as a vegetarian and as someone in the zoo/aquarium profession. Basically the zoo is offering a buffet on its opening night which will include tiger, lion, elephant and giraffe meat. Besides the obvious problems I have with the ethics of this, there's professional frustration as well. The industry is competitive enough; I really don't like the fact that people with so little interest in conservation can get an entire zoo going when I can't even get full time.

Also worth pointing out are these people. I have too little difficulty imagining what kind of person looks at a crane game machine and says "this would rock so hard with lobsters!" I do have quite a bit of difficulty imagining what kind of person looks at a lobster in a crane game machine and says "I think I can trust the people who operate this quality entertainment kiosk to ensure a clean environment that would be safe to get my dinner from." I can't really tell from the pictures what they've got for life support on that thing (doesn't look like much filtration or sterilization from what I can see) but since lobsters communicate by urinating in each others' faces, I wouldn't eat anything out of that water. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if this is what your typical supermarket's got in their seafood department too. I've never seen what's involved in that.
