Losing faith...

... in Dunkin' Donuts.

A year ago I'd have never considered going to Starbucks over Dunkin's for a cup of coffee. And for the record, I take my coffee dark and strong, I'm not fan of those $9 coffee-themed drinks with unpronounceable names. My preference is for home-brewed coffee from my press. Dunkin's used to be great for a quick cup at work, but the past few months, I don't think I've gotten a single cup that's actually tasted like coffee. I've put it down to it just bad luck or bad preperation, but it's really gone downhill since about the same time as they started their big national marketing push. And prices have gone up as well.

This all clicked for me the other day as I was picking up a quick bagel for lunch: I saw a sign that said you could change the coffee in a combo to any hot chocolate for only $0.40. A lone cup of hot chocolate, however, is only $0.20 more than the coffee. So I have no idea what's going on with Dunkin's these days.
